I'm Marko, a BSc Economics, Finance and Data Science student at Imperial College London.
In my first year, unprecedented personal challenges limited how much time I could commit to spring week applications.
Even so, I landed offers for four selective programmes across a range of areas within finance. Not by working longer, but by working smarter, and by cutting out the strategies that cost thousands of applicants their time and credibility.
The inevitable mistakes of my first few applications became my best teachers. Ironing out the red flags in my HireVue answers, and making sure my CV got through the automated screening that removes a large share of applicants at the very first stage, made a real difference. I accelerated this learning process by drawing on my network, from students who had come through these processes in previous years, to professionals at top banks who shared what they look for from the other side of the table.
